About Me...

Last Update: 11 January 2025

My name is Ian and I hail from Glasgow - Scotland, I'm in my mid 30's and I have gone by the alias "FastTrakz" since 2003/04 but have been on a very long hiatus from music related activities until around 2022, and although I never lost my interest and passion in music, I have recently started devoting some time to getting back in the swing of things. For gaming related activities I have gone by the alias "LordFastTrakz" for a few years now, however sometimes the two do become intertwined but at the end of the day they are the same person should you come across either alias.

The music that I enjoy the most is electronic dance music (EDM) and will likely translate into me recording live sets and creating my own tracks with Trance/Hard Trance, Techno/Hard Techno, Hardstyle, Hardcore and occasionally a combination of multiple styles. The lowest track BPM that you can expect is around 138, and the highest around 180... nothing too crazy! You can download any of the live sets I've recorded or tracks that I have already released on the Music Page or listen to them on my YouTube channel. When I’m creating a track I am not focused exclusively on a single genre, and don’t normally have a specific genre in mind when I begin the process, I play around with different things to see what I think works together, and what doesn’t , and the end result won’t always fit into a specific genre or will fit into multiple simultaneously. This approach allows me to be more creative, without feeling the need to replicate what's already out there.

All activities related to music remixing are conducted purely as a recreational hobby. I do not receive any form of professional compensation, including but not limited to advertisement revenue, sponsorship, or any other monetary benefits. I endeavour to provide a track-list of the original artists of the tracks utilized in my recorded sets when available. Any advertisement revenue of videos I upload to my YouTube channel containing 3rd party tracks/music in my sets rightfully goes to the official copyright holder(s) without challenge. I will always attempt to follow licensing laws and terms where possible where licensing guidelines and/or terms have been adequately published and accessible; this does not apply to content that I have created and own the copyright to myself, which I publish under CC BY-SA 4.0 Licensing. All third-party track acquisition, equipment/hardware and website/hosting costs are borne solely by me.

In relation to Gaming, I am not as active in the gaming community as I once was, however I may livestream on YouTube Live every now and again for a few hours, and more information in relation to this will be on the Gaming page. In general, I tend to play games that require a lot of “grind” (Repetition to master and progress) examples of these types of games are Rocket League, Diablo III, Diablo IV, Elite Dangerous, Borderlands 3, Path of Exile 1 & 2 and Destiny 2, however that being said, I've not played some of the above games for a while now due to professional and personal commitments. I will also from time-to-time enjoy a playthrough of a story orientated game and subsequently playing through the entire series if there is more than one release of the game in a franchise.

My Creative Software

Shown below is the main suite of creative software I use for creating digital content. This software is on the more affordable end of the spectrum with little compromise compared to other mainstream software providers. A brief note I will add is that Sony sold most of their software arm to Magix several years ago. This software has been maintained with regular updates, and provides quality and stability at a more accessible price-point. I have provided links if you wish to look into them further for your own use, as well as a link where you can get a £10 voucher code simply by signing up to the email newsletter for product updates and offers.
